libpdl-io-matlab-perl software package provides PDL support to read/write Matlab format data files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libpdl-io-matlab-perl
libpdl-io-matlab-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libpdl-io-matlab-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libpdl-io-matlab-perl *
You will get with libpdl-io-matlab-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
